StrwB & I went to Ikano on Sat morning to pick up some doggy treats for Mo from Pet Safari & furniture from Ikea. For brunch we decided to check out Bubba Gump Shrimp at The Curve. Here are friendly waiters standing at the entrance of the restaurant.
Situated next door to the restaurant is a gift shop filled with Bubba Gump merchandize for sale.
The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant & Market Menu with a picture of a friendly Shrimp.
Interesting metal plate signs (which are similar to car plates) placed on the table. Flip to the red color “Stop Forrest Stop” sign to let the restaurant staff know you want assistance/ service.
And the Blue “Run Forrest Run” sign to indicate that you do not want to be disturbed. Very creative indeed. However it does take a lil while before the wait staff actually notices… Hmm.
I also found a PingPong paddle which was chained to the table (to avoid ppl from stealing it?). Flipping through it you will find the dessert & drinks menu.
On each table you will also find a metal bucket filled with sauces & a roll of kitchen wipes & a stack of colourful plates beside it.
For drinks, I decided to order the Pomegranate Margarita. Yes, I am now drinking at noon… Has hell frozen over? lol. The drink itself was rather sourish in taste however balanced by the salt rimmed around the glass.
Each Margarita is served in a glass & their individual plastic shakers which can be purchased for RM12.90. We couldn’t resist & bought one… hehe.
StrwB decided to order a Sparkling Lemonade with Strawberries… How appropriate! lol. The lemonade has actual strawberries floating inside & was rather refreshing. No, StrwB didn’t just drink this, he had some of my margarita as well
I decided to order the Shrimper’s Heaven, which includes four different servings of Shrimps, Coleslaw & Fries… The assorted shrimps include Coconut Shrimp, Cajun Fried Shrimp, Tempura Shrimps & Chilled Poached Shrimps. My favourite was the Coconut Shrimp!
Here are the Chilled Shrimps which are poached in its shells… Which actually tasted kinda bland on its own. But with a sprinkle of salt & pepper & dipped into one of the many sauces available was rather yummy as it was very fresh.
Here’s the dish StrwB decided to order, the Bourbon Street Baramundi. This dish includes two slices of Baramundi fish & about half a dozen (or slightly more) shelled shrimp. The fish & shrimp is marinated with Cajun spices and grilled & it is served with mashed red potatoes and a creamy sauce.
The creamy sauce was really yummy (some ppl may find it a tad bit salty tho) & the fish was especially fresh too, those who know me know how particular I am with fish.
Including a Margarita Shaker, our bill came up to RM140++, which really isn’t cheap. But overall it was a great experience… I don’t usually drink in the day time & the seafood was fresh & tasty. A great place for friends to meet up, sample the many different varieties of Shrimp & have drinks.
